Project Nehemiah is our volunteer work weekend for adults, youth and children. This work weekend is designed to repair and renovate our buildings, to landscape the camp grounds, and to prepare the camp for the upcoming summer season. It’s a chance to join together as the Angeles Crest family to keep our facilities in tip-top shape!!

The Date: May 22-24, 2015 (Memorial Day weekend)

There are a number of options for the work weekend.  If you want to arrive early for the main work day, you can head up to the camp on Friday night so that you're ready to go bright and early on Saturday morning. Please let us know if you are planning to come up on Friday so we can make arrangements for food and sleeping arrangements. 

If you'd like only to work on Saturday that is fine too! Saturday is always the main work day and we have many people who will arrive early before breakfast and put in a full work day.  You can also feel free to stay over on Saturday night and join us for a Sunday morning worship service and brunch following the service.

The Cost:
$20 per individual or a maximum of $60 per family
(The registration cost will help us to cover our food expenses)

If you're coming up early to work on Friday during the day, both lunch and dinner will be provided.  If you are coming up at the normal registration time on Friday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., a pizza snack will be provided (not a full meal).  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided on Saturday and then a breakfast is provided on Sunday.

Project Nehemiah officially begins on Friday night with registration from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.  It concludes with a worship service on Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Click below for a copy of the schedule that will show you what is happening for the entire weekend.

Work Projects:

We will have many different projects that you can be involved in. Whether you are skilled in the trades or just a willing volunteer there is a place for you.
Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, Gardening/Landscaping, Brush/Fire Clearance, Electrical, General Cleaning, General repairs

What to Bring
Please bring work clothes and gloves for the day (wear work clothes that you don't mind if they get paint or other materials on them). If you're staying over on Friday night please bring a sleeping bag or bedding, pillow, towel, and toiletries.  Any of the following tools or hardware you can bring will be helpful: ladders, shovels, rakes, brooms, weed-eaters, tools (screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, etc.), power tools (saws, drills, etc.), extension cords, paint sprayers.  Click the link below for the General Information Sheet that tells you what you need to bring for Project Nehemiah.

Medical Release/Liability Form
Anyone who is under the age of 18 years old and not accompanied by a parent or guardian must fill out a medical release/liability form and bring it with them to Project Nehemiah. Click here to download the medical release/liability form.
