Theme/Program The theme for the weekend is "THE FIGHT!" Most men today don't realize that we are in the fight of our lives. Why is life so difficult and why do we come up against so many problems in our life? One of the reasons is that there is a raging war around us and against us. The Apostle Paul warned us that we fight not against flesh and blood but against a spiritual enemy. This weekend will help us as men of God to be aware of that war and be prepared to fight back and gain victory in our lives.
Our program for the weekend includes four main chapel sessions where you’ll be able to participate in some spirit-filled worship and also hear some practical and challenging messages from God’s Word! In addition, you'll be able to attend some special seminars that will be designed to help you grow in specific areas of your life as a man of God. You’ll have time to relax throughout the weekend or have the opportunity to use the various recreational events/activities up at the camp.
Recreation Activities On Saturday afternoon we will have a number of activities for you to choose from including: sports tournaments (ping pong, 3 on 3 basketball, 6 v 6 sand volleyball, horseshoes and the longest golf drive), paintball (additional fee required), the climbing wall, archery, and the Zip Line. We also will lead a hike that afternoon on one of our trails for those that want to explore the beauty of the Angeles National Forest. Or you may just want to sit back and relax under a tree and enjoy the serenity of God's creation! We have plenty of events and activities to keep you busy throughout the weekend.
"Milehigh" Paintball Information Our "Milehigh Paintball Course" will be open on Saturday for all those who would like to participate. To participate in the paintball program there is a $15.00 one-time field fee which includes a paintball gun, CO2 cartridge, paint, and a protective mask. We give all participants enough paint to play an average of three games. If you go through your paint at a rapid rate, you can purchase more paint ot the field. You must fill out a paintball waiver form in order to play paintball and those forms will be available at the paintball field.
"Camperships" Available Our greatest desire is to minister to people through our camp programs. If you have a special financial need, we have "camperships" (1/3 off the cost of camp) available to reduce the price to $93.00 per person. Requests for all camperships must be in writing and must be submitted to the camp with the registration form 10 days before the camp. Rules for acceptance and participation at an ACCC program are the same for everyone regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, or handicap.
What to Bring
Here are some of the items you should bring to the men’s retreat: First things first, make sure you bring a BIBLE to use for all the meetings. Other items include a pillow, a sleeping bag or blankets, clothes for recreation, a coat/sweatshirt for the cooler evening weather, a towel, and toiletries. There is also a camp store which has snacks, drinks, food items as well as camp clothing so you might want to bring some spending money for some of those items. (Special note: We will also be collecting an offering at the camp which will go toward our Project Nehemiah funds for getting the camp ready for summer!)
