Take time to hear the insightful words of some the nation’s best leaders, jump in a round table discussion, network with fellow church leaders and take time to just get away and pray or meditate on God’s Word. The Leadership Retreat at Angeles Crest will encourage you, challenge you and allow you to rub shoulders with other Christian leaders as you continue on your journey to be the leader God has called you to be.

The retreat will begin with check-in on a Monday afternoon between 4:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Our first event for the retreat will be dinner in the dining hall at 5:30 p.m. The retreat will conclude on Wednesday at 12 noon.
**Special Note: If you would like to come up early and spend the night on Sunday night prior to the start of the Leadership Retreat, we will be glad to accomodate you. Please contact our administrative office to make arrangements.
RETREAT HOST: - Tentative - Caleb Kaltenbach, Discovery Christian Church, Simi ValleyCaleb was born in Columbia, Missouri and was raised there and in Kansas City. When he was in high school, he joined a Bible study to learn how to disprove the Bible, but ended up following Jesus instead. He married Amy in 2004, and they have a boy and a girl who are growing up way too fast!!
In addition to holding ministries in Texas, Kansas, and Missouri, Caleb was on staff at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch for 11 years. He served in the areas of college ministry, small groups, and multi-site ministry. At Discovery Christian Church, he serves as Lead Pastor where he is the lead communicator, casts vision, and leads with the elders and staff. He also just finished his first book, "Messy Grace", due to release this year. Caleb is a graduate of Ozark Christian College, Talbot School of Theology (Biola University), and is working on a Doctor of Ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary.
GUEST SPEAKER: - Tentative - Dave Stone, Southeast Christian Church, Louisville, Kentucky
Dave Stone is Senior Pastor of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where he preaches Truth to more than 22,000 people each weekend. A gifted communicator, Dave is passionate about helping parents hone their tools to build strong families. In 1983, Stone graduated from Cincinnati Christian University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministries. In 1981, Stone became youth minister for Shively Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where he held that post until 1985. From 1985-1989, Stone assumed the role of Director of Recruitment at Cincinnati Christian University.
Since 1989, Dave Stone has served as a minister for Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, serving in various roles. In 2006, Dave became senior pastor of the church, where he enjoys leading and influencing the diverse families in his congregation.
Whether Dave is speaking or writing, he has the unique ability to touch both your heart and your funny bone through his practical life lessons. Dave is married to his wife, Beth for 27 years and have three children: Savannah, Sadie, and Sam.
WORSHIP LEADER: - Tentative - Sarah Lynn Grubb, Discovery Christian Church, Simi Valley
Sarah Lynn, an East Coast native, grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia. She met her best friend Matt in the great state of TX, and fourteen years later, they have two quirky, amazing kiddos, Enoch and Indie.
Sarah Lynn is a sucker for strong coffee and Cool Whip. A lover of travel, she’s been to ten countries outside the U.S. and is eager to add more to the list.
When she’s not leading worship at Discovery, you can find her training for a race, at the beach with the fam, or watching the latest episode of Once Upon a Time. Her favorite chapter of the Bible is Romans 12, which ends with, "Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good."
Our Leadership Retreat program is unique in that it is designed to give you the opportunity to spend time with others pastors and leaders in an informal atmosphere. You'll find that the schedule is designed to give a balance between time for leadership training and also personal time for you to network with others as well as time to relax. This is the perfect event for you to learn from some top-notch leaders, worship alongside your peers, and build strong relationships with others in Christian ministry.
