We were super excited to introduce the brand new “Sycamore Challenge Course” this year. We are so thankful to all of our generous donors who helped to raise $72,000 to build this brand new challenge course.

This challenge course is named after the story of Zacchaeus found in the book of Gospel of Luke 19:1-10…

“Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. SO HE RAN AHEAD AND CLIMBED A SYCAMORE-FIG TREE TO SEE HIM, since Jesus was coming that way… Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

In the same way that Zacchaeus climbed up a sycamore tree to see Jesus, we wanted to build a challenge course that would help provide a place for campers to have fun and SEE JESUS WHILE AT CAMP! As you can imagine, this new climbing course has become one of the favorite activities at camp!

There is so much that happened at Angeles Crest in 2024. We added new staff and even a brand new program camp. We also had the pleasure of hosting a wedding for two staff members who met at Angeles Crest. A lot of what was accomplished couldn’t have happened without you. There were multiple building projects and repairs that were critical to the continued success and operation of camp. Thank you for your support and donations in 2024!
