Man Camp 2024 was amazing!!

Our Man Camp is uniquely designed to provide quality time for men to evaluate the path they are on and to renew and refresh their spirit. This retreat will give you the opportunity to get away for a few days and help equip you to not only grow closer to the Lord, but also to be stretched in ways that will help you find God’s will for your life as a Christian, husband, father and friend.

MAN CAMP is specifically designed to encourage and challenge the men in our local churches to become godly men who love God and others with all their heart. Over the weekend men are challenged to become committed husbands and loving fathers, workplace employees who model a Christlike lifestyle, as well as passionate servant leaders in the local church. MAN CAMP can literally change the spiritual trajectory of your men.

WHAT TO BRING

We’re so glad you’ve signed up to attend MANCAMP at Angeles Crest!! To make sure your stay at Angeles Crest is a great one, please review the list below to make sure you have everything you need.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at camp!

1. Bible – First things first – make sure you bring your Bible to use for all the main sessions and for the seminars. You’ll also need a pen to take notes. We’ll hand out a MAN CAMP booklet at the retreat that will have a schedule, a place for notes, and other important items inside.
2. Clothing – The best way to dress for camp is to bring layers. You can bring shorts for warm weather during the day and pants for the evening. You’ll need a coat/sweatshirt for the cooler evening weather. Tennis shoes or hiking boots are best for the camp terrain. Depending on the weather, the pool may be open so you may want to bring a swimsuit as well.
3. Toiletries – Make sure you don’t forget to bring your toiletries with you (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc.) along with a towel. You may want to bring some chapstick and especially sunscreen for the afternoon sun.
4. Staying overnight – If you plan on staying overnight, you will need to bring your own bedding including a pillow, sleeping bag and/or blankets, etc. All of the cabins are heated so you don’t need to bring a lot of bedding, just enough to keep you comfortable.
5. Spending Cash – We will have our camp store open which offers snacks, drinks, camp clothing, etc., where you may wish to purchase some items. Also, some of recreation events will require a fee (ex: paintball). In addition, we will be taking an offering on Saturday evening that will go toward a special project that will help get the camp ready for the summer.
6. Weather – The weather will most likely be warm during the day a cool/cold at night. Make sure you bring a hat and sunscreen for protection from the sun during the day. Be sure to bring a sweatshirt or a jacket as it can get cool at night and in the mornings.
7. Water Bottle – Since we are at an elevation of 6,000 feet the weather can be warm and dry. It is a great idea to bring a water bottle so you can remain hydrated during the weekend.Click to Download What to Bring

Time: Check-in is on Friday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. There is no dinner on Friday night, but we will have some pieces of hot pizza ready for snacking before the opening session. The retreat concludes Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $229 per person (“camperships” are available – see below)

Includes: Lodging, 4 all-you-can-eat meals, recreation, worship, teaching, fellowship, downtime, beautiful vistas, and crisp mountain air

Back for Man Camp 2025!

We’re excited to welcome Jeff Walling back to Man Camp! A favorite from 2021, Jeff is a dynamic speaker with over 20 years of experience inspiring audiences worldwide. From keynote talks at youth conferences to workshops across five continents, Jeff’s passion for Christ and leadership development shines through.

As Pepperdine University’s Director of the Youth Leadership Initiative, Jeff is committed to equipping the next generation of Christian leaders. He’s also preached at some of the largest churches in the country and brings a wealth of experience, faith, and humor to every message.

Jeff and his wife, Cathryn, have three married sons and two grandchildren. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to hear Jeff challenge and encourage us at Man Camp 2025!

RETREAT HOST: DAVE CROUSE

Dave Crouse knows how to create meaningful experiences for men. Since serving at Angeles Crest for 25 years as a counselor, speaker, program director, and now Executive Director, he’s learned a thing or two about retreats and life change.

Dave’s passion is to see men discover and experience their potential as they follow God with all their heart.

Dave and his wife Dani live in Corona and chase their seven cute grandkids around and occasionally their four grown kids! Dave loves the mountains, loves all sports and has a love/hate relationship with golf!!

“God allowed me to really connect with men from all areas and take in wisdom. He allowed me
to see through my frustrations and anger and brought me to a place of peace with Him. This
weekend allowed me to dwell in His presence.”

Adventures and Activities

Saturday offers a number of activities for you to choose from, including sports tournaments (wiffle ball, ping-pong, basketball, and horseshoes), paintball (additional fee required), a climbing wall, archery, laser tag, a zipline, skeet shooting and hatchet throwing! For those who want to explore the beauty of the Angeles National Forest, we will also lead a hike on one of our trails. Or, you may just want to sit back and relax under a tree among God’s creation! Program

Our program includes four main chapel sessions where you’ll participate in some spirit-filled worship and hear both practical and challenging messages from God’s Word. In addition, you’ll attend special seminars designed to help you grow in specific areas of your life as a man of God. Throughout the weekend, you’ll have time to relax or use the various recreational activities available. You can check out the basic schedule for the weekend below.

Mile High Paintball

Our “Mile High” Paintball Course will be open on Saturday. Participation requires a $20 one-time field fee, which includes a paintball gun, CO2 cartridge, paint, and a protective mask. We give all participants enough paint to play an average of three games. If you go through your paint more quickly, you can purchase more at the field. Please note that you must fill out a paintball waiver form in order to play. This form will be available at the paintball field.

What to Bring

Other items include a pillow, a sleeping bag or blankets, recreational clothes, a coat/sweatshirt for the cooler evening weather, a towel, and toiletries. There is also a camp store which offers snacks, drinks, and camp clothing, so you might want to bring some spending money. “Camperships” Available

Our greatest desire is to minister to people through our camp programs. If you have a special financial need, we have “camperships” (1/3 off the cost of camp) available. Please call Vicky Stevens at 714-870-9190 or email her to request a campership at least 10 days before camp starts. Rules for acceptance and participation at an ACCC program are the same for everyone, regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, or handicap.
