October 2025 Update

Phase 1 complete!

Major Milestone

I’m thrilled to announce that Phase 1 of the project is officially complete!

We’re grateful and excited to share this progress with you…4 brand-new bathrooms have been added to Cabins #3, #4, #11, and #12.

Plus, we’ve enhanced the grounds with new retaining walls and upgraded the siding on Cabin #4, giving it a refreshed look and greater durability.

None of this would have been possible without the faithful donors that support Angeles Crest. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this project come to life! This is a transformational project that will help with the continued growth of camp for years to come!

Here is a general timeline of the project:
  • December 2024: North Cabin Project Campaign begins – $84,000 goal to remodel Cabin #4
  • January-February 2025: Met with engineers, architects, contractors for planning stages
  • April 2025: Project expands to 4 bathrooms instead of just 1 due to some special donations totaling almost $340,000
  • June 2025: Work begins!
  • July 2025: Project hiatus while camp is in session
  • August 2025: Work recommences
  • October 2025: Phase 1 Complete!

This is just Phase 1 of our larger vision for the North Cabin Remodel Project. There are still 5 more cabins that will eventually have bathrooms added. In the meantime, our awesome building team will take a well deserved break as the winter weather descends on the mountain. Stay tuned for Phase 2 in the (hopefully) not too distant future. September 2025 Update

Phase 1 is almost complete!

The North Cabin Project has been making tremendous progress the last couple of months since campers made their way off the mountain at the end of summer. Our construction team is hoping to have the bathrooms fully completed and operational in October. That means that our inaugural Young Adult Camp will be some of the first to enjoy the brand new bathrooms in the north cabins.

I am so excited about this first phase of transformation taking place in the old “Girl’s Town”. Even though I haven’t been a camper for about 20 years, I am a little jealous that future campers will be able to take a shower without leaving the cabin and walking to the Ponderosa bathrooms. But, more than anything, I am overwhelmed by the people that made this project possible.

Thank you to everyone that donated to our Christmas Fundraiser last year and also to First Christian Church Long Beach for including Angeles Crest as a beneficiary of the sale of their church. It is because of all of you that we were able to complete not only one cabin, but four cabins! God provided more than we ever expected, and I know He will do the same when we are ready for Phase 2 and we take on the final five cabins. Keep an eye out for more updates on this project here.

June 2025 Update

Great news! We have officially broken ground on the brand new North Cabin bathrooms after months of having plans reviewed and approved by the engineer, architect and contractor! We are so excited to see how God will be working through this project over the next several months.

Not only are we starting work on Cabin 4, but two other cabins will also have concrete pads laid in anticipation of the next phase of work. Our contractor and his team are eager to get as much work done before summer campers arrive. Thankfully, our camps will be bursting at the seams the entire month of July and every single cabin will be at capacity. That does mean work on the bathrooms will have to take a break for a few weeks while campers are enjoying everything Angeles Crest has to offer. But, we hope to have the new bathrooms in Cabin 4 fully operational this fall.

March 2025 Update

In December, we shared an ambitious plan to renovate the North Cabins by adding attached bathrooms to each of the 9 cabins over the next 2-3 years. It is the number one request that all the leaders write on their evaluations.

In response, we asked for your support in helping raise $84,000 for our first phase of the project; renovating Cabin 4.

We are pleased to announce that in the month of December we raised almost $20,000 toward our goal!

Thank you to all our incredible supporters who donated toward this immense project. Not only did we raise nearly $20,000 through individual donations, but in God’s perfect timing, we also received an estate gift from the sale of First Christian Church Long Beach, which will help with the cost of this project.

In February, our staff met with our contractor to look over plans for the first bathroom. We would love to have the first bathroom completed before summer campers arrive. As someone who camped in girl’s town in the late 90’s, I can tell you this will be transformational. This project is also a huge stepping stone toward our vision to see 10,000 campers served every year. I am so excited to see this project break ground.
