Gift of Staff Housing

Their generous gift provided a former work trailer to be converted to summer staff housing. It was an amazing answer to prayer.

Why Did this (anonymous) Donor Invest in Angeles Crest this Year?

In His Own Words.

“When Dave Crouse contacted me this past January and told me about the used trailer which had been donated and how it would be so helpful for housing camp counselors it was a very easy decision to provide the funds to transport and install the trailer at camp.

I have supported Angeles Crest Christian Camp with what I would call modest annual donations for many years.

When camp announced its 75th Gala Celebration this past October and revealed the vision the camp was hoping to accomplish, it became apparent to me that the investment needed to make that future vision actually come true required much more than a modest investment – the ultimate goal was to raise one million dollars to make that vision happen.

“After prayerful consideration I was convinced that a more substantial donation was required if the proposed vision was going to be accomplished. I knew that there was not a more deserving organization which needed my support and I was pleased to be able to support the camp with a generous donation at the Gala.

I absolutely know the worthwhile benefit that the camp experience can impart to a life, whether young or not quite so young.

It has been a privilege to give something back to the camp after it has given so much to me and to so many other campers over the years. Angeles Crest Christian Camp is still an exceptional place for teaching and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, especially with those campers who are searching for meaning and direction in their lives. I know that a donation to ACCC is one of the best investments possible for encouraging young hearts and minds to become committed Christians.”

Who is this Generous (anonymous) Donor?

This donor has a long history with Angeles Crest and first came to winter camp in the 1960’s with their youth group. One year at camp, they even broke their ankle riding a toboggan, but they still said, “Those annual winter trips to Angeles Crest hold many fond memories for me as I remember gathering with everyone in my youth group to contemplate God’s creation as well as taking time to reflect on His direction and leading in our young lives.” This donor’s history with Angeles Camp continued into adulthood when they acted as a counselor for their own child.

This is just one of the many examples of how Angeles Crest continues to grow and improve, which wouldn’t happen without our generous donors. A very special thank you to our anonymous donor who made the need of more housing come to fruition.

Volunteer Weekend Highlights

Thank you so much to the 77 amazing people who came to work on one (or both) of our Volunteer Weekends!!! You helped prep the camp for the busy summer season and it is looking fantastic. Here are just a few of the projects that were completed:

• Tree trimming
• Fixed volleyball nets
• Patching potholes
• Cleaning out Signing Pines main building
• Clearing brush
