Angeles Crest Update: News & Stories from Our Community

January 2026

Thank you for giving us shingles!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I am ecstatic to report that because of your generosity, the “Shingle All The Way” campaign was an enormous success! Our hope was to put 4 new roofs on some of the camper cabins in the north area, which was estimated to cost $30,000. Not only did we reach our goal, but we received over 245% of that initial goal. To date, we have received $73,560!

Thank you to all our incredible, generous donors for helping make our cabins safe and warm for our campers for many years to come. Because of your incredible blessing, we are now able to fix 8 total roofs, including one staff cabin that sustained water damage in the storms at the end of December.

With the beautiful weather we had recently, our contractor was able to finish the first roof this past weekend! Praise the Lord! We couldn’t have done it without you.

We are truly humbled by the outpouring of love and support from our Angeles Crest family. Thank you so much!!! Please keep an eye out for updates about the progress of the construction efforts.

Wild, Wet, Winter Weather to Kick Off 2026

The new year started off very wet at Angeles Crest and throughout Southern California. In less than 2 weeks, nearby Mt. Baldy received approximately 13 inches of rain, which caused local flooding and mudslides. Fortunately, the camp was spared from the worst of it.

There were some issues with leaking roofs, ruined drywall, flooding in the rec room below the chapel (see video) and even some trees that came down in 90 MPH winds.

Thanks to the incredible efforts from the camp staff, they were able to mitigate the damage and quickly clean up from the multiple storms that blew through.

Road to Camp is OPEN!!!

As many of you saw at the start of the new year, the winter storms that rolled through the Angeles National Forest and the greater LA area brought damage throughout the region. There was constant coverage of the flooding and mudslides in Wrightwood and along Highway 2 as we rang in the new year.

While it is true that part of the highway about 2 miles east of camp has been closed for the last several weeks (and likely for months to come), fortunately, the road to camp is OPEN and does not affect any of the upcoming winter camps. We can’t wait to see everyone for the first winter camp of 2026 starting this weekend!

Prayer Request

Pray that God would provide RESOURCES to accomplish both our vision and mission, and that LIVES WILL BE IMPACTED ETERNALLY. Pray also that God would PROTECT THE CAMP from any extreme weather conditions or situations that would close down the camp.

“I lift my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” – Psalm 121:1
