Angeles Crest Update: News & Stories from Our Community
December 2024
Merry Christmas one and all!
I’m so excited to be celebrating the Christmas season and the wonderful birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. There are always so many festivities at the end of the year to fill up the calendar. I look forward to church services in December when the worship band plays songs about the newborn King. I enjoy driving around at night and looking at the beautiful lights while sipping on a peppermint hot chocolate. And, if I’m lucky, maybe even squeezing in a visit to the happiest place on earth to get in the spirit.
While I love all these fun activities, they can become a distraction from why we are celebrating in the first place. The birth of Jesus Christ.
There is no greater gift than that. I pray that you and yours are blessed this Christmas and that we all remember to take time and focus on the true reason for the season. Merry Christmas!
As you give meaningful gifts this holiday, will help us give the gift of Jesus up to 1,000 campers in 2025?
The busy Christmas season is in full swing and you may have already heard “Santa Baby” lyrics asking Santa for a ‘54 convertible, a platinum mine and a diamond ring a few too many times already.
We’re a little more practical here at Angeles Crest Christian Camp. All we want for Christmas this year is to give a special gift to all the campers and leaders that come up for a great mountain top experience.
In order to do that, we’ve kicked off an ambitious remodeling project of the North Cabins (you may know it as “girl’s town”). We currently have approximately 6,500 campers attending camp each year – but our vision is to see 10,000 campers attending camp each year at Angeles Crest.
Here’s Our Biggest Challege…
The number one obstacle to reaching 10,000 campers per year is the lack of bathrooms inside each of the nine cabins in our north area.
We have many groups who take a tour of our facilities but decide not to bring their group because they don’t want to go outside the cabin to the restroom building.
It is the number one improvement that all the leaders write on their evaluations.
Leaders, we hear you!
To kickstart our ambitious goal for the North Cabins, we will begin by remodeling Cabin #4, which is next door to the recently renovated Pines Meeting Room. By doing this remodel, we expect to increase our attendance by another 800-900 campers per year.
Here’s the plan….
We will remodel Cabin #4 into a new Leadership Cabin for youth pastors, church leaders and campers that visit throughout the year at Angeles Crest.
The remodeling plan consists of three different LEVELS:
Our estimated cost for a full remodel of this new Leadership Cabin is $84,000.
This will be a blueprint for the grand plan of remodeling all nine North Cabins in the next 2-3 years. Will you help us get our Christmas wish this year?
We can’t impact Eternity without your help!
Prayer Requests
As 2024 comes to an end, and 2025 quickly approaches, we ask you to pray for the thousands of kids, parents, leaders, guest groups, students and staff that will make a trip up the mountain in the coming year. Please pray that each and every person will have a great mountain top experience with eternal impact in the new year.
Most of all, pray that God’s name will be glorified.
Thank you to all the prayer warriors who have been a consistent blessing to Angeles Crest Christian Camp in 2024 and beyond. Your prayers are heard and we can’t thank you enough for your loyal commitment.
Merry Christmas
