Hi, I’m Amber George.

I am so excited to be taking over as the new Donor Care and Events Leader from the incredible Amberly Neese as Amberly continues her speaking, writing and teaching ministry around the world.

I know we haven’t met yet, but would you do me a favor?

Please scan this email to find what you’re interested in seeing from Angeles Crest and let me know what you would like to see in our monthly newsletters. I can’t wait to hear from you and get to know you.

I’m no stranger to Angeles Crest. Camp has had a special place in my heart for almost 30 years. (If you’d like to hear more, keep reading. If you wanna catch up on Angeles Crest happenings….please scroll down.)

It’s safe to say that Angeles Crest played a big role in my life.

  • I started as a camper in 1995 at Junior camp while in elementary school. I attended as a camper through high school for six summers and even a winter camp, usually with Parkcrest Christian Church.
  • It was at Angeles Crest I made a decision to go into ministry.
  • Another life changing moment at camp was meeting husband, Adam George, during high school camp. (Yep another camp romance.) 😉
  • After attending college in Santa Barbara at Westmont as a religious studies major, I started working at Christian Church of the Hills as the Assistant Children’s Director, where none other than Dave Crouse was serving as Pastor.
  • Later I moved into the Director role for Children’s Ministry and also served as the Interim Youth Pastor until the church closed in 2010. I have so many fond memories of my time at Christian Church of the Hills, including taking kids to camp at Angeles Crest.
  • Since then, I started working with my husband full time running the business he started, Embrace Life Photography, as the Studio Manager and Assistant Photographer. (He took all the really cool pictures at the 75th Gala you can see HERE.)
  • In 2005, we were blessed with our daughter, Faith, who just started college this past fall.
  • Before starting my new job with ACCC, I was most recently on the planning committee for the Angeles Crest 75th Anniversary Gala.

I feel like God has led me to this role with Angeles Crest, and I feel blessed to be a part of the future of this organization that has made such a huge impact on my life.

Hope your love for what God does at Angeles Crest continues to grow as we share really amazing things each month.

Here’s an encouraging reminder:

“The LORD directs the steps of the godly.

He delights in every detail of their lives”

Psalm 37:23 NLT

That’s YOU!

Camp Needs You

New this year, we have two Volunteer Work Days – May 11 and 18th to choose from for adults, youth, and children. This day is designed to repair and renovate our buildings, to landscape the camp grounds, and to prepare the camp for the upcoming summer season. It’s a chance to join together as the Angeles Crest family to keep our facilities in tip-top shape!

We will have many different projects in which you can be involved. Whether you are skilled in the trades or just willing to volunteer – there is a place for you.

Bonus: You can see the new bathrooms at the dining hall!

Would You Pray for the Winter Campers?

Please pray that our WINTER CAMPS would be filled and that many decisions would be made by our campers to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. And, maybe just a *little* bit of snow.
